I started working in construction at just 14 years old.
Long before I was building homes, I was sweeping floors, carrying lumber, and learning the trade from the ground up.
Those early years taught me that quality isn’t an accident—it comes from discipline, attention to detail, and pride in doing things the right way.
By the time I became a carpenter, I knew how to build a house.
But I hadn’t yet learned how to build a company.
That foundation never left me.
There came a point when I realized learning a trade wasn’t enough. I wanted to grow—not only as a builder, but as a husband, father, and leader.
That decision led me to drive 36 hours to Texas with everything I owned to pursue an engineering degree while working overnight hospital shifts and attending college during the day.
My wife and I built our future together through years of sacrifice, hard work, and faith.
I became the first person in my family to earn a college degree.
But the greatest achievement wasn’t the diploma.
It was becoming the man my family could depend on.
After graduation, I became an engineer and joined one of the world’s most respected companies.
From the outside, it looked like success.
But I knew I wanted to build something of my own.
In 2019, I returned to construction—not because I had failed, but because I had found my purpose.
Kana Construction was created to combine the craftsmanship I learned with the organization, leadership, and systems I gained through education.
